Astutis learner sets new benchmark
09 October 2025
ASTUTIS LEARNER Jason Rockwell-Kent has made NEBOSH history by winning Best Overall Candidate at the 2025 NEBOSH Graduation, just a year after receiving the Best Candidate Award for Unit DN3. This is the fourth consecutive year an Astutis learner has claimed NEBOSH’s top honour.

This year's NEBOSH Graduation was another triumph for our exceptionally talented Astutis learners, and we're absolutely thrilled to announce that Jason Rockwell-Kent has achieved something truly remarkable.
Having previously won the Best Candidate award for Unit DN3 at the 2024 NEBOSH Graduation, Jason has now taken the ultimate prize. Best Overall Candidate at the 2025 NEBOSH Graduation.
This incredible back-to-back achievement showcases Jason's unwavering commitment to excellence in occupational health and safety education. This achievement also marks the fourth year in a row that an Astutis learner has taken home the top prize at NEBOSH graduation.
Jason, who currently serves as SHEQ Director at Dalkia UK, oversees safety, health, quality, environmental and radiological compliance for eight nuclear power stations.
With over a decade of experience in occupational health and safety leadership roles, Jason has consistently demonstrated the expertise and dedication that led to this prestigious recognition.
From his early days as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist at Climax Molybdenum to his current role directing SHEQ compliance across EDF's nuclear sector, Jason's career trajectory reflects his passion for advancing safety standards across high-risk industries.
Here’s what he had to say: “I can't even put it into words, to be honest with you. It's amazing. A lot of hard work and effort, during evenings and on the weekends as well. I’m just overwhelmed with the honour. I’d really recommend anyone on the course and really put the graft in, as it’s an incredible feeling.”
This remarkable achievement is particularly special as it demonstrates Jason's sustained commitment to professional development and excellence. To win awards in consecutive years, first for Unit DN3 and now for Best Overall Candidate, speaks volumes about his dedication to mastering every aspect of occupational health and safety management.
Steve Terry, managing director at Astutis, expressed his delight at Jason's success: "We are absolutely over the moon to see Jason achieve this incredible milestone. To win Best Overall Candidate, especially after his success last year, is truly exceptional. Jason exemplifies everything we value at Astutis – dedication, expertise, and a genuine commitment to raising standards in the health and safety profession. We are thrilled to congratulate him on his achievement and proud to have played a part in his professional journey.”
Jason's success adds to Astutis' impressive track record at the NEBOSH Graduation awards, where our learners consistently demonstrate the benefits of our world-class training approach. Whether delivered online, in the classroom, or virtually, our comprehensive support throughout the learning journey continues to help professionals reach the highest levels of achievement.
We congratulate Jason on this outstanding success and look forward to seeing his continued impact as a leader in the health and safety sector. His back-to-back awards serve as an inspiration to current and future NEBOSH learners, proving that with dedication and the right support, exceptional achievements are within reach.
